Legoland California

There is something so magical about giant lego people.

This week, we decided to take a little day trip to LEGOLAND Califonia. It’s been about 4 years since we last went and let me tell you, It is so nostalgic seeing giant lego’s. Aside from the little mishaps here and there, I absolutely love LEGOLAND. Even our older boys had a blast.

We decided to opt for the 2-day park hopper since it’s only a short drive for us. When you get the 2-day park hopper, you get entry into the main park, the waterpark and the aquarium. You have nine days to use the 2 day ticket. If you are not lucky enough to live close to a Legoland, I would look into deals they offer for staying in the hotel because they look like a blast!

Since we don’t go to Legoland often, we decided to make it a whole theme day. From the morning car ride to the lunch we packed.

We got the little ones these adorable travel cases for the car to keep them entertained for the drive. They were so happy to be able to bring their favorite LEGO’S and it made an amazing snack box!

I’m sure by now you heard of the snackle boxes. Well, this is was our spin on it. I made each Each of the kids a snack box filled with Lego themed snacks. Of course, all the kids loved them. Even the twelve year old.

One of my favorite things about LEGOLAND is that you can bring your own food. No one likes spending a ton of money to go to a theme park to spend an entire day being forced to buy over priced food and snacks. So, We packed lunches for each of them in these lunch bags as well. We also got them these water bottles.

Tips for LEGOLAND

All in all, Legoland is great. The only thing we had an issue with was the size requirements for the rides. Every ride monitor gets to be the judge on wether a kid is tall enough to ride. However, my four year old is exactly 40in without shoes and she was getting turned away from some rides. Especially the waterslides. My suggestion for you is, if your kid is riding the line of height requirements, wear taller shoes. If you plan on going to the waterpark wear water shoes! Some monitors are a poor judge of height even with the height measure at the front of the line. I watched one guy shove his finger between the bar and the Childs head and say she wasn’t tall enough. Naturally the child scrunched down because of the force of his finger pulling on her little ponytail.

Tips

  • Bring your own food and drinks

  • Bring a change of clothes.

  • Download the LEGOLAND app

  • Wear taller shoes (kids)

  • Wear water shoes

  • Bring a tape measure LOL

Honestly, I’m not above it. haha. Seriously though, There’s a 15ft foot playground slide with no supervision and all the kids are squeezing up a ladder at the same time to get to the top but you won’t let my kid who is 40 INCHES! go down the water slide for 40in or taller kids, one at a time in a 1ft of water. Did I mention she can swim. As you can tell it’s still fresh.

Anyways, the other big thing I would do is download the app. It has the ride wait times on there and will help you easily go through the lines quickly. If you really want to make it an easy day pay for the line reserve. We didn’t stress though, We ended up just walking in the direction with the smallest wait times and would only go to the rides with a wait time with 15 minutes or less. The older area has some rides for really small kids and the wait time was less than 5mins for all of the rides over there.

My Favorite Things
